Symbiosis Law School
Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, was established in the heart of Pune city in 1977 to create one of the best LLB colleges in Pune. The aim was to deliver world-class law education to discerning students. SLS Pune was previously associated with the University of Pune. However, in 2002, it became a constituent of Symbiosis International University. As a result, it gained more autonomy in teaching, learning, and research. As Symbiosis International University’s flagship campus, SLS Pune has garnered a reputation as one of the best law colleges in Pune.
Symbiosis Law School epitomises quality legal education. It represents the spirit of ‘Symbiosis,’ which means living together for mutual benefit. The India Today Nielsen Survey ranked the institute among India’s top 10 law schools in 2013. The Bar Council of India bestowed the Gold-star Award on it in the same year. SLS Pune, has reached several milestones in teaching, learning, and research during its 38-year history.
It was the first law college in Pune to provide evening law studies and a five-year law programme with its first BA/BBA LLB (Hons.) courses. It stands out from other law schools in the city and region because of its unique and creative pedagogy for BBA LLB courses , LLB and LLM courses. SLS Pune is a core partner in the Erasmus Mundus consortium’s global network of legal colleges. It has also been chosen by the Ministry of Social Welfare of the Government of India to give scholarships to SC and ST students. SLS Pune also has partnerships with several prestigious national and international educational institutes.
SLS Pune offers integrated legal programmes like:
- B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) – The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law (B.A. LL.B.) (Hons.) degree programme is a five-year integrated Administrative Law bachelor’s degree programme offered by SLS Pune. It consists of a combined study of courses from the Arts stream with law education.
- B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) – Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Legislative Law (B.B.A. LL.B.) (Hons.) is a five-year integrated Administrative Law degree programme provided at the bachelor’s level by SLS Pune. Economics, Accounts, Business Studies, Comprehensive English, and Communication skills are among the subjects covered in the curriculum.
- We have different LL.B. – Bachelor of Legislative Law (LL.B.) is a three-year undergraduate programme offered by SLS Pune designed to deliver a comprehensive understanding of law to discerning students. By integrating their domain knowledge into the legal profession, the curriculum will aid students in collecting legal information,skills,IT advocacy,Research,EU Law from several disciplines and professions to equip them to fulfil a variety of responsibilities as professional attorneys beyond the traditional function of litigation.
- We have 8 Specializations in LL.M. – LL.M. is a one-year post-graduate law degree from SLS Pune. The curriculum prepares students to work as professionals in law and legal affairs in the country by allowing them to specialise in several legal sub-fields. SLS Pune offers 8 specialisations: Business and Corporate Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Innovation, Technology and Intellectual Property Law, Criminal and Security Law, Human Rights Law, Family Law, European Union Legal Studies, and Law, Policy and Good Governance.
Candidate seeking admission to Symbiosis Law School, Pune (SLS, Pune) should complete the following procedure:
- It is mandatory to appear for SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) as a precondition for admission to SLS, Pune.
- Candidate must complete the online registration process of the SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test).
- Candidate must pay Rs. 2250/- as a SLAT Registration Fees.
- Candidate must complete the SLS, Pune payment Rs. 1000/- per program (i.e., B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) or/and BB.A. LL.B. (Hons.)) while filling the SLAT registration form.
- Note: It is mandatory to Register & Pay to both SLAT & SLS Pune. A candidate registered for SLAT and not registered for SLS, Pune, by paying the above-mentioned fees, will not be eligible for the next phase of the PI process at SLS, Pune.

Eligibility
Qualification:
The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates). Students who have appeared for their Standard XII final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of a passing certificate at the time of the final admission.
INTAKE:
- The total intake is 300 seats [inclusive of 180 seats of BB.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and 120 seats of B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)].
- Separate Merit Lists for BB.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme will be prepared and published. At the time of SLAT registration, it shall be mandatory for the candidates to clearly indicate the programme to which they wish to apply. A candidate is free to choose BOTH or ANY ONE programme.
Note: The candidates are free to choose their choice of programme selection depending on their ability, interest and opportunity. Please note that these two programmes differ only in the First-Degree contents (either Humanities OR Business Administration), whereas the law courses offered in both the programmes are the same.
Graduates in both streams are eligible for diverse legal careers and opportunities in Corporate, Litigation, Civil Services, Advocacy, Judiciary, Academics, jobs in International Organizations, International Admissions and others.
